Manual payments and payment instructions
Offer supported transfer or peer-to-peer payment instructions and reconcile them with the submitted response.
Manual payments let customers submit the required details and use a transfer or peer-to-peer method that suits them. The customer follows your payment instructions; your team checks that the money arrived.
Configure a manual route
- Open the form's payment configuration and choose an available manual method.
- Enter the business destination required for that method, such as the provider's payment link or account identifier. Use a destination owned by the business.
- Confirm the currency and the amount source.
- Tell customers how to identify their payment. An order number or the same name and email used on the form helps your team match it.
- Add the instructions to the customer confirmation so they can find them after submitting.
Existing Neartail resource articles describe methods including PayPal links, Venmo, Cash App, PayNow, and UPI. The choices shown in your payment setup determine what you can configure for that form. See availability and fees.
Write instructions customers can follow
Include the amount, currency, destination, payment reference, and when payment is due. For example: “Transfer the amount shown on your order. Use your order number as the reference. We confirm pickup after checking payment.” Adapt the wording to your actual policy.
Match the payment to the response
Find the submission in Responses, compare its amount and reference with the provider's transaction record, and update the payment information using the controls available on that response.
A screenshot or a customer's “paid” message is a prompt to check the provider record. It is not a substitute for confirming receipt. Keep fulfillment status separate: an order can be paid and still awaiting preparation.
If you want the provider result recorded automatically, use an automated payment method instead of assuming a manual link provides that behavior.
