Open and close ordering

Stop new submissions at the end of your ordering window and show a clear closed message.

Close the form when the ordering window ends so your team can work from a stable set of submitted orders. Reopen it when the next offer is ready.

Close the form

  1. Open the form in Edit.
  2. Select the form's Advanced setting gear.
  3. Open Advanced.
  4. Turn on Close this form.
  5. Enter the closed message and Save.
Close the whole form when the preparation deadline arrives.

Use a message that answers the customer's next question, such as Orders for Friday are closed. Our next menu opens Monday.

Confirm the closed state

Open the actual customer-facing link from Share. Check that it shows the closed message and does not invite a new order. Recheck a printed QR code or the link from your website if customers reach the form that way.

The setting described here is a manual control. Use it at your stated deadline rather than assuming a date written in the form description schedules closure.

Reopen for the next cycle

Update the menu, product visibility, prices, stock, and customer instructions before turning Close this form off. Then preview and submit an example order for the new cycle.

You can reuse the form or create a weekly copy. If you copy it, review the shared link and Sheets destination so staff and customers use the right week.

Keep Google Forms forwarding working

For a managed form, use Neartail's Close this form control to stop orders through the Neartail link. Closing the underlying Google Form separately can interfere with forwarding. Reopen it if forwarding reports that Google Forms is not accepting responses, then manage the public ordering window in Neartail.

After closure, use production reports and packing lists to prepare the submitted orders.
