Product availability and stock
Hide menu items temporarily and configure inventory for products with a limited supply.
Use product visibility when an item is not offered, and inventory when an offered item has a limited quantity. Closing the whole form is a separate action.
Hide an item temporarily
Open the product settings and use its visibility action, labeled Show this product to users or Don't show this product to users. Save the change and open the customer form to check the result.
This is useful for a weekly menu: retain the product and its details while removing it from the current offer.
Set available stock
For products supporting inventory:
- Open the product's gear in Edit.
- Open Advanced.
- Enable Enable inventory.
- Enter available stock for the product or variants.
- Save and preview the product.
Neartail's inventory guide states that stock decreases when a customer places an order. Review the limited-stock setup for that flow. The product settings include sold-out behavior when stock reaches zero.
Check each unit
Stock must match the selling unit. A count of meal portions differs from kilograms of produce. For variants or option combinations, inspect the stock at the level configured by the product settings rather than assuming one shared number covers every option.
Maintain stock during service
Update the available quantity when your actual supply changes. When correcting or canceling an order, inspect the remaining stock before reopening sales; do not assume every operational change automatically restores the original quantity.
A form preview is not a submitted order. Review stock after an actual example submission if you are validating inventory behavior.
Stop taking all orders
Use Close this form when the entire ordering period has ended. Hiding one item does not stop customers ordering the others.
For unusually high simultaneous demand or a strict capacity guarantee, confirm the required behavior with support before depending on it.
