Create a form
Start a Neartail order form by importing a Google Form, converting a menu file, or generating a form from its name.
Quick Answer
How do I create an order form in Neartail?
Open neartail.com/online-order-form, or choose Create new form on your dashboard. Then import an existing Google Form, upload a menu as a file, PDF, or image, or enter a name and let Neartail suggest a form. Review the suggested outline, choose Proceed, and check every product and price in the editor.
Open the order form creator, or choose Create new form on your dashboard. Pick the route that matches what you already have.
| You have | Choose | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| A Google Form you already use | 1 Import your Google Forms | A copy of that form, managed in Neartail |
| A menu as a document, PDF, or photo | 2 Convert your menu to an order form | Products and prices read from the file |
| Just an idea | 3 Enter your form name | A suggested form to edit |
Import a Google Form
Choose the form
Paste your Google Form's link, or choose Browse to pick it from Drive. Use the Google account that can edit the form.
Choose Import
Neartail makes a copy and opens it in the editor.
Share the new link
Customers must order through the link in Share. Orders from that link belong to the copy.
The import is a copy
Editing your original Google Form afterward doesn't change the Neartail form, and Neartail orders don't appear in the original form's responses. If you want them there, see Google Sheets.
Convert a menu
Neartail reads your items and prices from the file and suggests a form. The clearer the file, the better the result, so use the menu you actually give customers.
Then check each product. The conversion can misread a price, merge two options, or treat an extra as its own product.
Generate from a name
Type a specific name and choose Generate. Willow Kitchen weekly menu gives a better result than Order form.
The product names and prices are invented placeholders, so replace every one of them.
Review the outline
The name and menu routes show a suggested outline before anything is created.
Look for sections you don't need. Neartail can over-build: a weekly meal prep name gave us seven identical day sections with Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner in each. It's quicker to trim these now than to delete them one at a time in the editor.
Choose Discard to start again, or Proceed to create the form.
Check the result
Whichever route you used, go through this list in the editor before you share the form:
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product names and prices | Generated values are placeholders, and converted ones can be misread |
| Currency | It may not be the one you expect. Change it early |
| Selling units | Check whether weights are in kg or lb, and whether quantities start at 0 or 1 |
| Customer questions | Remove anything you don't need, and add pickup or delivery details |
| Order Amount | Place a test order and compare the total with your own sums |
