Add products
Add products sold by quantity, weight, or variant, then set prices, images, descriptions, and tax.
Quick Answer
How do I add products to a Neartail order form?
In Edit, choose Add product. Name it, choose how it's sold (by quantity, by weight, or by variant), and enter a price. Select any product to edit it inline, or open its gear for images, descriptions, full price, tax, and bulk discounts. Choose Save, then check the product on the customer form.
Open your form's Edit tab. Each product appears as a card showing its image, price, and choices.
Choose how a product is sold
Select a product, then open the Sold by menu at the top of its card.
| Sold by | Customers choose | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Sold by quantity | A number from a list | A meal, a box, a loaf |
| Sold by variant | A quantity for each option | Soup in Small or Large |
| Sold by weight | A weight from a list | Salad or produce priced per kg |
Add a product
Choose Add product
It appears below the products in that section.
Enter the name and price
Use the name customers know. Choose how it's sold and enter its price.
Set the choices
List the quantities or weights customers can pick, one per line. Remove a choice with ✕ and add one in the empty row. For example, list 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 for a salad sold by the kilogram.
Add an image
Choose Upload image, or Generate to create one from the product's name. Check generated images before you publish them, because they show what the AI imagined rather than your actual food.
Open the full product settings
The gear on the product's card opens every setting.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Change or Remove | Replaces or removes the image |
| Title | The product's name on the form and on orders |
| Description | Details such as ingredients, portion size, or allergens |
| Additional images | More pictures of the product |
| Price | The price per unit |
| Full price | The original price, for a product on offer |
| Tax | A tax rate for this product |
| Bulk discount | A lower price for larger orders of this product |
Choose Save when you're done. The icons beside Save duplicate, move, or preview the product.
Check weight units
In our test, the same product showed Weight (lbs) on its editor card and Weight (kg) in its settings and on the customer form. Check what your customers will see, not only what the editor card shows.
Change a product's unit later
In the gear's Advanced tab, the line This product unit of measure is… has a Change button. Check any existing stock count afterward, because stock is measured in the same unit.
Check it as a customer
Open the form from Share and add each product. Then confirm that:
- The price and unit match your menu.
- Every variant has the right price.
- The Order Amount changes when you change a quantity.
